Traveled and lived across country alot, made our first home in Lemon Grove, CA for 6moths .Gordon enlisted in the Air Force during high school , he went to Boot Camp in Texas; (just miss being sent to Viet-Nam) was stationed to Vacaville-Travis AFB; then sent to Albuquerque, New Mexico-three yrs. Moved back to Southern Cal; lived Westminster, Garden Grove, Santa Ana, job transfer to San Antonio and Austin,Texas back to the San Diego area to Poway, CA., yet again traveling now across the U.S. to Cumming, Georgia ( North of Atlanta ) finally another transfer now back to Northern Calif moved to Danville in 1989. Later moved to San Ramon. Wanted to live outside of the area we found a place out in the country, Manteca. In 2003, we started our own business, were called Barefoot Pools; swimming pool contractors here in the Contra Costa Cty/Tri-Valley /Alameda and surroundings areas. Gordon specialty since 1974 reasons why we moved he was the best and started many offices for company we worked for. Before coming back here we were briefly in Fresno; now make home in Pittsburg. Like all the traveling but this was one long road trip - 42 yrs worth, I became such an expert packer now!! In 1969 started a family and it grew to a large family 8 children; Cecilia, Gregory, Raquel, Theresa, Gabriel, Rebecca, Reuben and Ramon. (In between we lost 2 children) Now we are grandparents of 26, and just recently our son and wife annouonced that they are having their first baby; this will make it 27 coming Jan 2011. We have three cats, Aleya, Sassy, and Fi-Fi plus a box-turtle ToTo that keeps taking off hiding in the bushes ( she blends in real good ) but comes back out for more lettece and her other goodies, then does all over again. Drives Gordie nuts!! Now we have our oldest grandson Nicholas living with us for his senior year. This August 19th, he is going to the auditions for "American Idol" in San Francisco. Can't believe I agreed to take him 8 years ago, so here I go with the crowd of songbirds everywhere; and I mean thousands of them. All in all, it is nice to be back where I started from and hope to many great years here. I have good memories of Pittsburg and well as sad ones but all in all we’re are family and Pittsburg is Home. Changes happen for the best yet we don't want to let go. It is part of us; "our youth" but we have our memories. We live in the good times many which they had. Life is blessing, we must cherish the friendship of the past and build new relationships for our future. Hope we can make connections in August. God Bless You All !! |
